Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is transmitted directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies any response. We do not keep a separate log or database of the terms submitted through those partner forms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other contact submission may be retained long enough to review and answer it. Access is limited within our organization, and the content is not disclosed outside it unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, the site's systems may collect routine technical and usage information:
- Pages viewed, approximate time spent, and page-view timestamps
- Device category and operating system
- Internet Protocol address assigned to the device
- Referring website, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files and analytics services help measure aggregate traffic, including popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies. Blocking them may change how certain website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted search to the selected outside provider
- Maintain website availability, speed, and security
- Measure which material visitors use and where performance can improve
- Diagnose errors and other technical failures
- Display advertising that may reflect inferred interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hooker County Criminal History does not host, assemble, or sell a database of individual criminal records. It provides general directions to records kept by the Hooker County Sheriff, Hooker County and District Courts, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a third-party criminal history. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools placed on some pages. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure rules govern data entered into those tools. Those practices are beyond our control, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Hooker County government, Nebraska courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Check those terms before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for interest-based advertising. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure use and technical performance
- Outside search companies receiving a query a visitor chooses to submit
- Advertising networks serving placements on the website
- Government or law enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and this policy does not promise that unauthorized access or another breach can never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If data from a minor is identified, we will take steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may differ based on where a visitor lives. Nebraska's Public Records Statutes, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, govern access to records held by public bodies, not private visitor data held here. Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523 limits public dissemination of specified criminal-history information; it does not cause this website to store a government criminal record. Subject to applicable law, visitors may:
- Request deletion of personal data we control
- Ask what personal information we hold about them
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal information
- Object to certain processing when the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as website practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes available here with its current effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
